The concept of the Fosforeira Galeries project was based on the rehabilitation of the former Fábrica de Fosforos building, which once belonged to the Fosforeira Portuguesa company. The unique design of the old factory unit, combined with the privileged access in and out of the city and the proximity to all kinds of services and facilities, stood out as unique assets for the requalification of the complex.

In an effort to keep alive the memory of an equipment that shaped the history of the county, the façades keep the architectural elements of the old factory resulting in an unusual combination between the charm and grandeur of industrial architecture and the aesthetics of modern construction. The interior street that crosses the that crosses the entire block, serving as the main service route to the stores, and the of the characteristic solid brick blocks for the cladding of the building’s facades characterization of the Quarteirão da Fosforeira is a unique development in the city of Espinho, either by the historical heritage that it evokes, or by the innovative concept concept of housing and commerce that has inaugurated in the city. Occupying a total area of 6000m², it also has 154 private parking spaces in the parking spaces in the basement and an exterior park with capacity for 80 vehicles.
